This week we talk you through a fantastic episode from late season 2. Joey’s dad is out of prison and taking over her life and her livelihood. He’s running the Icehouse, and he’s booked them a catering job at a wedding. Naturally, Joey has to hire all of her friends to help. All but one. Sweet Jenny Linds. So while Dawson, Joey, Jack, Andi, and Pacey have fun in their vests serving canapes to the high and mighty of Capeside, Jen is left out, and naturally seeks solace in the arms of Abby Morgan. Together they get hammered, crash the wedding, and end up out on the pier where… well, we know what happens to Abby on piers. I bet someone breaks down in tears! Also, if you’ll recall, the ladies are back at Dawson’s crib rooting through his porn stash and getting their feelings out with his mom. This week RNGesus continues to smile upon us as he blesses us with an episode straight out of the middle of Season 4. The Tao of Dawson finds Pacey escorting his lovely sister Gretchen to her old college stomping grounds to pick up a vehicle she’d left behind. Pacey is trying his best to steer her away from Dawson, but we all know what happens when family tries to do that. Back in the cape, Dawson and Jack are running a successful painting business and talking about their feelings. Gretchen kinda carries this episode and does a great job. We love Gretchen. This is a weird one. Our mission statement when we started this show was to bring you a unique and insightful commentary on the WB classic program: Dawson’s Creek, and to attempt to be funny while doing so. The latter is quite difficult during an episode like this. We here at Creek of the Week are big fans of Mitch Leery, perhaps the biggest fans. So his funeral episode is a bit of a bummer for us, as it was for everyone watching. On the bright side you get to listen to two grown men react to the death of surrogate TV father.
