Episode 84 – Four Scary Stories
It’s early December 2001, the Christmas season is upon us. Recent national tragedies have left us in a slightly less-than-merry state for this particular holiday season. So what shall we do to lift the spirits of the many WB fans tuning in to their favorite show: Dawson’s Creek? Four scary vignettes about the Creek kids getting stalked and possibly killed? NAILED IT! I kid, but this was a fun episode. It’s another example of an episode where we don’t see any real drama, but we just get to watch a day in the life of Pacey, Joey, and Jack. No ground is broken, no spit is swapped, no hearts are shattered. But we do get to watch Joey Chuck-Norris a dude, and we prove that time travel is canon on Dawson’s Creek. Imagine the possibilities that opens up. We enjoyed watching this episode. It’s senior year and the Capeside kids are getting in to their groove. Dawson is trying to figure out life in a post-PJ world, Jen is missing Henry who is using Jack to dump her, Joey has a new job at the local country club, Pacey is facing scholastic apocalypse, and his pride won’t let him tell the one person who could help him the most: His girlfriend Joey. This is an episode that isn’t lousy with drama and excitement, yet still manages to be a lot of fun, imagine how much more fun it would be with two jackasses talking over it! RNGesus has not graced us with Season 2 in a while, but when he does he gives us a good one. This episode immediately begins with Dawson in a fit of heated teenage angst. Everyone is moving on but him! He has to make some changes or he’s going to be a loser forever! He wanted to go to Toshi Station and pick up some power converters! Also, Jack just acknowledged his sexuality and is dealing with the reactions of his friends and classmates. Joey is also dealing with finding out her boyfriend is gay. And Jen, poor Jen, is struggling with her own issues. Fantastic episode of Television, and we try not to ruin it with our stupid voices. This episode is very much a wrap-up. Joey gets Dawson’s awful movie going again, Jen, Jack, and Grams make a brief appearance then say goodbye. Audrey and Todd get their freak on, and Pacey tries to make things up to Dawson.
