This week’s show takes us out of Capeside and back to Boston for an early season 6 episode. Dawson is making a movie, Pacey is brokering stocks, Jack is actually going to school, and struggling with a closeted teacher that has a crush on him, Joey & Eddie are flirting awkwardly, and Audrey is being recruited to the weird English girl’s punk band. Does any of this make sense? No. Why is Pacey a stock broker? No idea. Why does Audrey’s horrible shower singing make anyone think she’s capable of fronting a band? Search me. Why won’t Joey and Eddie just chill out and bang already? I don’t know. We do our best, folks. But this is not top shelf Creek. Oh yeah, it’s Detention time. We’ve talked about it many times. We’ve dreamed of the day our RNGesus would provide it, and that day is here. So, as most of you are aware, the gang each gets in trouble seperately, and end up in detention together. Some of their misdeeds are known by the group, some of them are secret. The important thing is that tensions are high, and likely, so is Abby Morgan (cuz she’s a bad girl). There’s not much more to say, it’s one of the best episodes of Dawson’s Creek (and therefore one of the best episodes of Television), and we enjoy it every bit as much as we expected to. Want to listen to two men squeal like school girls? You’re in luck. Today we rolled up one of the most classic and infamous episodes of Dawson’s Creek and our joy is palpable. As a recap, the Miss Windjammer pageant is in town, and Joey sees an opportunity to pay for a chunk of her higher education, if only she had a mentor… enter Jen Lindley. Meanwhile Pacey is sick of his basically abusive father, and needs some cash to get his own place. Pacey isn’t about to let a penis get between him and that sweet cash. This episode is fantastic. Pacey gives an amazing monologue, Joey sings, Dawson has a creepy shift and realizes his love for Joey, so much goodness it’s hard for us to injest it all in one go. But, like the pigs we are, we binge on that goodness, and regurgitate it into your waiting ears. We are so excited we forget which episode of our podcast we are recording and plug next week as the 50th show. We are dumb, and wrong.
