Episode 31 – Joey Potter and the Capeside Redemption

After a short recap of current events (COTW is your source for 5 minute rundowns of major news stories, and Dawson’s Creek), we dive into the next episode.    This week we swing back to the very end of the series and roll up the last regular-season episode, occurring right before the Finale two-parter.  In this episode Dawson was just informed that, because of Pacey, he is broke.  His dreams of making the 20th version of a film representing his teenage years have been shattered, and he’s relegated himself to slingin’ salmon down at Leery’s fresh fish.  Enter our heroine, Joey Potter.  She stirs up the gang and convinces everyone to help Dawson realize his dream.  This is pretty obviously a fluff episode to set up the finale.  Not much happens, there are weirdly long montages, and it’s pretty lame.  Much like the rest of Season 6.  But hey, you’ve got us to help you through it! http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_031-6x22_1.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Episode 30 – The All Nighter

What would happen if a large group of misfit friends got together at the home of a rich popular classmate and had an all-night study session, being forced to hash out their various issues and dramas?  And what would happen if this house had a large stock of wine, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and (as Pacey is delighted to note) a satellite dish?  Possibly the best episode of television ever, that’s what.  So much drama unfolds that it would be doing it a disservice to break it down here.  Rest assured that temperatures get hot, and t-shirts get wet.   http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_030-2x07_1.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Episode 29 – Roadtrip

This week on Creek of the Week, Eric & Josh watch a great season 1 classic.  On the previous episode, Boyfriend (Creek of the Week Episode 8), Jen’s ex came back to capeside and basically caused Dawson to get dumped. In this episode, Dawson is super sad about it and, when running into the ex that caused it, decides to go on a road trip with him. Dawson is great at decision making.  Pacey doesn’t want to miss out on this action so he’s in for a fun Dudes-day-out.  Meanwhile a creep at highschool is claiming to have boned lil Joey Potter, so she and Jen hatch a plan to make him look the fool.  This show is contrived and silly and absolutely wonderful. http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_029-1x09_1.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Episode 28 – Psychic Friends

This week’s episode starts with the best pre-credit scene of all time, then takes us to a rainy Capeside art-festival.  Joey is displaying her work, Grams is selling quilts, Pacey is doing a creepy puppet show, and Dawson is just chillin’.  Joey is happy that Jack has decided to make his homosexuality public, but she admits that she misses some of the simple pleasures of dating, like locking lips with a hot young stud.  So when an obvious hot young stud shows up at her art display and asks to photograph her, you can guess where she thinks things are leading (tongue-town!).  Unfortunately things are never what they appear, and his lips are meant for another.  Meanwhile, Dawson pines for his unrealistically attractive film teacher, and puts himself out here by showing her his terrible movie about his sad little teenaged life.   She is not a fan.  Pacey puts on a puppet show for children and comforts Andie.  And Grams tries to get Dat-D (with the help of Jen).  Lot’s of stuff going on this week, kids.  Try to keep up. http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_028-2x17_1.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Episode 27 – All good things are coming to an end again

So our plan to watch the finale 10% of the time might have been a bit ill-conceived.  After going 2 dozen episodes without watching it, here we are a few weeks later watching it again.  So that particular part of our experiment may have to change.  We, however, will press on.  Which isn’t that hard as we both really like the Dawson’s Creek finale.  Soooooooo… Jen’s dying, Dawson’s busy with work, Pacey moved back home to run a restaurant, Jacks in love with Doug, Joey is bouncing on her soon-to-be fiance.  There, you’re all caught up. Now let’s address the elephant in the room:  Sound quality.  There were some mixing problems and the file got corrupted with some weird distortion that accompanies our voices.  I debated trashing this ep, but I hate to skip a week, and you can still understand it.  So, since we aren’t the least bit professional, I’m releasing it!  If you can get past the incessant ear-gouging buzz that accompanies every word we say, it’s pretty funny! http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/cotw_027-6x23_2.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Ep 26 – The Song Remains the Same

This week, after a brief movie review segment, we dive headfirst back into The Creek.  And roll up one of the few good eps from Season 6.  Dawson and Joey have just played a rousing game of hide the salami, and at first everything seems great, but will it last?  No.  We both know it will never last.  The side plots are almost unbearably boring.  Pacey and Jack look for an apartment?  Really that’s the b-plot of a Television show?  Anyway, even with the boring parts it’s a good ep.  Enjoy! http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_026-6x02_1.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...
