Another Friday, another dip into the Young Americans pool. This week was pretty great as it introduced the Son of Anarchy himself: Charlie Hunnam as the devious Gregor Ryder. He basically just shows up and acts like a jerk to establish himself as the antagonist and doesn’t do anything particularly interesting. Will Krudsky continues to uncomfortably bond with his rowing coach, in the form of keeping his affair with the Dean’s wife a secret. Meanwhile EVERYONE IN TOWN goes to the drive in where uncomfortable situations inevitably ensue. Brother Scout and Sister Bella are on dates with other people, while creepily eyeballing each other. Jake and Hamilton both take he same girl to the movie and get jealous of… each other? The girl? They’re definitely jealous about something. We actually really enjoyed this episode and may finally be starting to see the potential of this show. We do not, however, like it enough to stifle our crude and juvenile jokes that we shout out at the worst moments possible. This week we deal with some heavy issues. The death of a parent. Infidelity. Fraternity hazing. Dawson just lost his father and he’s visiting his friends in Boston to take his mind off of it. Joey, who also lost a parent should be just the person to help, unfortunately she’s a mess and blows it. Jen and Pacey are hanging out and spot Jen’s new boyfriend eating dinner with a sexy girl. Is she going to go off half-cocked before she gets all the details and embarrass herself? You bet she will. Lastly, Jack is having fun in college and is totally over his highschool boyfriend, as are we. Via Con Dios, Toby! We hardly knew you. Strong showing this week from Van Der Beek who really makes us feel his panic attack. We all lost a father with the death of Mitch, so we feel ya, Big D. http://media.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/p/content.blubrry.com/creekoftheweek/CotW_072-5x05_2.mp3Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadSubscribe:...

Episode 1 ended with a bang, surely episode 2 will continue that momentum, right? Not so much. This week we get a look at Will Krudsky’s old life and meet some of his childhood friends who are not super accepting of his new wannabe rich boy lifestyle. We also find out that Sean, Will’s best friend, has the hots for Bella, which leads to confrontation with the great Scout Calhoun. Meanwhile Hamilton and “Jake” are figuring out their friendship and unexplainable attraction to each other. Not a lot of plot is advanced, but we get to learn more about the town, and so far we are fans of Sean McGrail. Join us, won’t you? There comes a time in a young man’s life, when he has to prove to himself, to his father, and to his best-friend-turned-nemesis, that he is capable and willing to win a sailing regatta for the woman he loves. For Dawson Leery, that time is now. Weeks before Pacey began his romantic dabblings with Dawson’s soulmate, he signed up for the annual Capeside boat race, to be sponsored by Leery’s Fresh Fish. Now that race day has come, and Dawson is wise to what he’s been up to, it’s time for Leery The Younger to Take. Him. Down. Meanwhile Henry & Jen are having some issues and Henry is making a fool of himself. And Joey has her own set of problems watching her two oldest friends do battle for her affections. It’s a thrill-packed episode where two boats come within like… 12 feet of each other and nearly cause some minor fiberglass scratching! If you have a heart problem consider yourself warned. Long ago when Dawson’s Creek was at the height of it’s popularity, the all-knowing WB decided to use it to jump start a new series in it’s summer line up. Will Krudsky was introduced as a childhood friend of Pacey and Dawson, who showed up for 3 episodes then left to make his own show. That show was called Young Americans, it ran for 8 episodes and was cancelled. Your intrepid hosts, having never had the pleasure of watching the doomed series, decided that it would be fun to record our first watch through and release it as a Creek of the Week bonus series. The first episode introduces us to our new cast, their idyllic setting, and their many first world problems. Things start out slow but get real interesting. Sorry folks, we’re not home right now. We’re walking in the spiderwebs. This week takes us to the infamous No Doubt episode of Dawson’s Creek. Your hosts are not fans of the band, but we struggle through the musical numbers and find a lot of surprisingly tasty meat in between. Joey and Eddie are exploring their new relationship and getting to know each other as they break into the No Doubt concert. Dawson is on a fun date with his movie girlfriend that he gets to know while they try to sneak into the No Doubt concert. Meanwhile inside the concert Jen digs CJ, CJ digs Audrey, Audrey had her heart broken by Pacey, and Pacey just kinda feels bad about the whole situation. All this drama, plus a surprise Creek of the Week announcement! Leave a message, and this episode will call you back.
